With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Good decision of Govt. regarding GST system implementation In starting we will face difficulties but after some time we feel comfort. 1. Rates slab should not be more than 2 or 3. 2. Govt. and Private organisation should trained Peoples for accept the GST mechanism. Rates are excess in some goods comparison to last tax system. 3. we are citizen of india and hope to the Govt. that our Money which collected from Tax system should utilised proper manner. Thanks to Govt.

GST is nothing but legal loot(12, 18 & 28 percent), It should be not more than 6 percent. what govt is providing? 1. I can't trust Police? 2. I can't trust judicial system? First have Law enforcement so common person should have trust in the system and then have meaningful tax structure so that I should feel proud to pay.

GST (Sales or Service tax) should not be more than 5 or 6 PERCENT In USA sales tax is 5% or 6% in most of the states, in some states, it's actually Zero. I believe GST should be 5% across the board doesn't matter how expensive or what it is, it makes simple and easy to understand and should be enforced at PoS(Point of Sale). You can have some at higher rates like liquor. people should feel proud to pay as well as no pinch when they are buying something. Main key is enforcement.

Dear sir I appreciate your initiative to follow gst in India but as u know that we are still a developing County and most of the population of the country is middle class and on that you have imposed 18%tax on exam forms fees. Stuff like exam form fees should be kept under Lower tax slab.

The differently abled use certain prosthetics and the braille books for the visually challenged persons which must be also lightly taxed. It is also vital to see that GST Council must allow for a fair hearing from citizens and researchers for emerging technology products also.

Sir, Start a separate TV channel to train and enlighten the common man about various aspects of GST as well as other schemes launched by central govt. Some attractive TV programs may be designed such that people could learn the important aspects in easy way.
