At present for appearing CTET/NET the maximum age limitation is 35 years. But I think in our modern age practical oriented education system a teacher is competent only when he/she has some exposure on field-work. That means a history teacher would be efficient only when he has some knowledge of historical research or work based on practical history project like curator/historical tourism etc.

Books being printed by the education boards are sub-standard, poorly structured, badly written less illustrative and do not interest the students. Furher More the books have deteriorated gradually to exclude important matters like social, cultural, moral and inspirational values. Books must be well designed and also supplemented with electronic media, modern technology in order to promote better learning. Conducting expert lectures, seminars and use of TV,media, internet could help a lot.

What is needed is "compulsory" animation on certain subjects like science and mathematics where animations greatly creates interests and enhance foundations. Many animations are already available in net and many can be custom-made. Such inclusion of animations as "complsory" part of curriculum (ncert recognized/authorized discs) will ensure that every student, including those in villages, will learn by methods other than books. Computer labs in schools can serve the purpose.

The central institutions can play a valuable role in distance learning. Online courses, mentoring smaller institutions, Create better books, media, and run seminars to improve Quality of education across the country. Quality problems in education need to be identified, analyzed(Root cause analysis), fixed, improved and prevented in the future. This requires ISO 9000 principals and systems. Quality can be improved by stringent quality, reviews, assessment and audits.
