I would like to know more about development of east india which was promised by PM during election campaign....states like jharkhand, bihar, wb, orissa still miles behind from mainstream national growth story...no comprehensive naxal policy, no development packages for these states which are contributing bulk of minerals to the nation....rationalization of making/verification of pasaport , driving licence, caste and residential certificate which acts as a breeding ground for corruption .

(cont'd.) 4. Age limits of 35 for IITs w/o checking when the PhD is undertaken If we thought UGC is not aware of this situation, we're off target! UGC FRP has mentioned all of these as endemic problems in recruitment at Universities. But they themselves have recruited only once and that too applications till 2012 only!! With all these hurdles, how can India attract good PhD holders from within India and abroad?

Shortage of Faculty: So many new Central Universities, IITs and IIMs have been announced... But the existing Universities, IITs (5 year old as well as 50 year old) and NITs face severe shortage of qualified faculty. My experiences tell me that the reason is just one thing - Excessive Red Tape in the Recruitment Process! In more detail : 1. Infrequent Ads with long processing delays 2. Bad/biased ways to calculate API scores for shortlisting candidates 3. No value for pre-PhD exp +
