Dr.Ramaa S. Most of the teacher educators engaged in elementary teacher preparation have B.Ed which focuses mainly on secondary education. They are not well versed with the pedagogy at elementary level. These two stages are distinct and require relevant competencies. While framing the New Education Policy, experts from both elementary education and secondary education have to be included. Those teacher educators with training in elementary level only should be recruited in DIET'S/D.Ed colleges.

Dr.Ramaa S Though there are different themes identified for framing New Education Policy, the issues relating to one theme influences the issues relating to other themes. so they have to be considered as a whole. Regarding learning outcomes at elementary level, most of the schools employ CCE. But there is no proper diagnosis of the difficulties and the needed remedial instruction. Unless CCE is followed by diagnosis and remediation it will not serve any purpose. This needs urgent consideration.

Why do we need a cast/religion based reservation in colleges? The responsibility of government is to provide equal opportunities to everyone and facilitate healthy competition. .Students should feel confident enough to compete with one another. Currently the inequality in quality of education at school level promotes inferiority complex among students pushing them to find a place under the shadow of reservation so as to get admission to the college of their interest.Change must be brought in.

1. Like Inter-College Socio-Tech-Sport-Cultural Festivals, a festival must be organized by Educational Boards of India for a week duration for schools in a zone or region, state or national level. This type of events increase networking, interaction & also increase enthusiastic skills among students. Schools must implement advanced cultural programs in School time schedules.
