Examination reforms that focus on problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills are critical to improving quality at the secondary level. Such reforms will change the teaching–learning processes and improve learning outcomes. In recent years, CBSE has introduced wide-ranging examination reforms in schools affiliated to it, such as Class X Board Examination has been made optional, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been strengthened so that the students, are assessed on an ongoing basis for their holistic development, a system of grading in place of marks has been introduced. The objectives are to look at the existing systems and suggest reforms which would help better assessment of students.

CCE system had lowered the academic education due to technique of assesment in class 10 and class 9 due to it they are facing problems in class 11 and class 12. Class 10 board exam should be started again with some features of CCE like activities which is important for co cullcular development and also textbooks should be updated with new information and science and maths textbook should be updated with material required for competitive exam or level of these exams should be lowered.

IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE THAT SOME NUMBERS WRITTEN ON A PIECE OF A PAPER CAN DECIDE SOMEONES LIFE!!..WE DID ENOUGH OF THIS BULLSHIT ITS TIME TO VALUE TRUE NATURE OF HUMAN INTELLEGENCE i.e. NOT MEMORISING BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS OF FACTS BUT INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY!! DONT JUDGE A FISH BY ITS ABILITY TO CLIMB A TREE!!

EXAMINATION SHOULD INCLUDE QUESTIONS TESTING CREATIVITY AND INNOVATIVE CAPABILITY OF A STUDENT NOT USELESS FACTS THATS STUDENTS TENDS TO FORGET. FACTS COULD BE FOUND AT ANY CORNER BUT IDEAS ARE RARE AND MUST BE CELEBRATED.

Though we study a lot of things in school and colleges, we remember only the crux. Unnecessary details should be removed from the syllabus. A survey may be carried out to establish what most students study without interest and that is of no use in practical life. Curriculum should be productive so that one studies with interest, gains requisite skills and it is one that is remembered for most part of life. New NCERT history books are an example of it. Needs to be done more widely.

(i) re-initiate class 10 board examination for all. (ii) All group C/D recruitment for govt sector should have pass in class 10 as 'maximum qulaification', so that babu/peon job seekers do not crowd universities and waste public/parents money. (iii) similarly all Group B job seekers should have class 12 as 'maximum qualifications'. For Gr A, graduate degree can be maximum qualification. Govt should teach/train, after recruitment. For govt jobs, honesty, partriotism is required not degrees

The MCQ system should be replaced with explanatory and subjective. Practical education in every subject should be encouraged. These would increase a person's knowledge upon the subject and reduce rattafications. Some questions should come out of books even in classes VI-VIII which are the base of higher education. The Grading system should again be replaced with marking as it increases awareness among the students how much they have scored. Grading only gives the inaccurate idea of it.

CCE is not "working' as expected, mainly because of the lack of involvement and depth of understanding from the part of teachers. The main drawback was that the system was introduced without imparting proper training to the teachers. It's time to have a rethinking...
