Reimagining Skill India 2.0: Inviting creative ideas and suggestions to help reinvent the
landscape of skilling in India

The Government has reimagined Skill India 2.0, understanding the urgent need to create a reliable and qualified workforce. The push is necessary to help the workforce tap into new opportunities so we can look at the future of the world of work and be a part of New India's growth story.

Union Budget 2022 unfolded a vision for a New India, which will be built on a strong skilling ecosystem, robust digital infrastructure and plethora of opportunities. To fulfil this dream, several initiatives have been proposed to boost the skilling sector. They are:
Industry Connect: As India ushers in Industry 4.0, industry linkage becomes important to provide demand-driven industry-relevant training opportunities, bridging the skill gap and facilitating demand-based skilled manpower to industries which would, in turn, add new jobs.

NSQF Alignment: In a bid to bring talent in sync with demand for it, the Government is leaving no stone unturned to renovate the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF)and align it with evolving industries.

Digital Skills: The launch of the DESH-stack e-portal will encourage a digital ecosystem for skilling and livelihood and offer solutions to complex challenges in preparing for a skilled country. The Government is also focusing on strengthening the digital skill ecosystem as technical skills like AR/VR, machine learning, and the ability to work with data, including automated systems, become a must-have.

With Drone Shakti and Kisan Drones for crop assessment, digitization of land records, and spraying of insecticides, the country is set to leapfrog to a future-ready world. This opens up innumerable opportunities for both the drone and
agri-tech sectors: a mutually beneficial ecosystem for technology companies and agricultural modernization.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the skill capital of the World.

Read an article on MGN-REGA negative balance for FY2022, was thinking what can be done to utilize and optimize this vast database of workforce. Government undertakes lots of projects or sanctions them to private sectors. They need labor for temporary basis or on regular basis can be made to chose from the MGN-REGA registered labors (or other government procurement/employment bodies). Private, semi-private contractors do pull in resources locally which are usually exploited. With a central database at hand, in form of the above mentioned bodies, it can be easy to categorize & formulate details of availability, skillsets, etc. This can then be shared with the contractors & parties who are looking for appropriate labor. Government can bring in ways to mandate small % of workforce inclusion from central data to encourage use of registers & trained labor from these venues. This will be avenue for generating revenue rather than pumping in. It will limit the bonded labor exploitation.

Any/All Skills will be fruitful/successful if and only if it is respected, honored and duly rewarded. Government should make the people feel that their skill (whatever, old or new) is important and they are needed in the growth. Once it is achieved, it will make the people mentally free and healthy. To achieve this there should be network of skilled people and there should be standard parameter of their skill evaluation, getting them the right job, respecting them and allotting remunerative assignments, so that people should not feel inferior or exploited by capitalist. Like in my view, delivering pizza is also not a less respectful Job. I am sure our country will achieve this and address the foreseeable unemployment issues (by disruptive technology). Because in the new era people will need different level of energy, rather than enthusiastic, they need to be calm, rather than having physical muscles, they need to have stronger nerves (including mental, eye and backbone). government should provide education on mental health of the students. Mental health can be a very disturbing subject for the mind and lead people to bad ideas.

In today's world where technology is growing day by day, minute by minute, is now venturing in the psychological field as well. A new theory that is proposed based on some of the theories already published is the one which talks about the use of fingerprints to analyse the capabilities of our brain in much scientific way. It helps to understand the Strengths and areas of improvement in an individual. We at Paradigm Shifters counseling services have experienced this in past 5 years that if we can understand our child's strengths and areas of improvement in a single report, the stress levels in the families go down and the child is able to develop their innate skill which is highlighted in the report. I request all those who are interested to know more about this new ways of SWOT analysis to contact us at shriprasad.n@gmail.com.

Government can give training to students after Plus Two exams and can do part time training to gain knowledge and experience. Training Completion Certificate can be given to them and it can be considered while applying for the job. This will help those who couldn't afford to pay and join any training courses privately. Students can choose any subject of their choice and get training. Training Centers should be more and the students should be able to attend more hours on weekends. This will be very helpful for women and they can start own business and earn independently. A data base of those who completed such training should be made available to the Companies and Recruiters. They can give priority for such people. This will encourage many youngsters and they will get job easily as they have little experience and knowledge through this training. All MNCs can also conduct such training free of cost to Government school and college students. Experts can plan and implement this idea.

There are many unemployed and skilled people in our country and Government should give jibs to them based on their experience and qualification. This will improve the productivity. There should be a transparent appointment system in recruitment of such skilled people. Many skilled people are denied with opportunity as some people take bribe and appoints unskilled people. This has to be stopped. A new system to do background verification on such unauthorised appointments through bribes should be made. If anyone is proved that they got job by paying bribe they should be arrested along with the culprit who appointed illegally. A surprise visit and check by a team and find out whether the appointment is done properly or illegally. If these measures are carried out it will halp many skilled people will get job in all Central and State Government offices. All Vacancies in Government offices should be filled through a job portal. All vacant positions should be updated on real time basis.
