Satna is one of the leading industrial cities in the heart of central India, Madhya Pradesh. Also referred as a Cement City, Satna contributes about 8 to 9 percent of India's total cement production. Satna district houses some major religious tourism spots including 'Chitrakoot' and 'Maihar'.

The city is the gateway to the Vindhya region and is located on NH-75 and the Howrah-Allahabad-Mumbai rail corridor.

In round-1 of Smart City Challenge, Satna scored 48.97 % and was ranked 55th among the 98 participant cities.
The Municipal Corporation Satna is upgrading its Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Round-2. The earlier proposal envisaged development of a Greenfield Township in city suburbs and other smart initiatives for Solid Waste Management and Urban Mobility in the city.

A continuous engagement with the citizens at every stage is of utmost importance to re-shape our Smart City Proposal. The Municipal Corporation of Satna hereby invites suggestions from citizens of Satna for upgrading our ‘Satna- Smart City Proposal’. Your valuable suggestions in context to the proposal uploaded Smart City Round-1 are welcomed.

First f all v all noe dt Satna is in the limestone belts of India. As a result, it contributes around 8%–9% of India's total cement production. Other part of coin is it contributes to pollution in the city makes it one of the polluted city in India. Also hve to Make sure to set parameters on mills/companies to maintain pollution control vs production ratio. Also departments to check air/water pollution should be very atentive and proactive. Use of Pest pesticides should be controled

Satna the heart of madhya prades has many more capability as it already have oldest railway network since 1856 so wee need to work on its smartification Two we need to work on its tourism too coz its only linkage between Chitrakoot Maihar Khujharo the world heritage site Bharut the oldest ashokan stupa which is completly deployed Water harvest is shud be made compulsary as water levrl is continously going down Over all we r satna we r india we have potential just we need u in bst

Satna is one of industrial hub in the platue area which have many problems in whaich half of them can be eradicated by public participation nd aware ness itself Coz best thing is we knoe our problems Like pollution level in air Calcium level in water And normal cleniliness level Ovr all this is nt a big deal if we r aware as we juat need lil support nd enthusiasm to wrk so awareness is 1st hot topic Next is woking in primary education which r guided by bad leaders nd teachers
