India has a rich legacy of practices and knowledge touching different spheres of life and a scientific heritage traversing various Science & Technology (S&T) domains. The traditional knowledge of India is available in various forms such as classical texts, manuscripts and/or as oral communication that has been passed on over thousands of years. This valuable knowledge is often part of our daily practices as well. Some of the traditional practices are livelihood means of the concerned knowledge holders. Our traditional practices exist in synergy between human needs and nature, often balancing resources and requirements in a local context. However, with time, India’s Traditional Knowledge Systems are eroding rapidly, and the nation has also been witnessing erosion in people’s faith towards our traditional knowledge. A grave concern is the mindless attitude of some to mimic non-Indian cultures and disdain for our traditions. It’s important to recognize that traditional heritage is an integral part of any country’s development and progression. This calls for necessary attention and action from the concerned stakeholders in the country to build further on our scientific inheritance. Only a well-informed and balanced society can drive the advancement of the country.

Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and President, CSIR Society, Shri Narendra Modi, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is spearheading the efforts to collaborate with the relevant partners from across the country and implement the national initiative SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge) for communicating India’s traditional knowledge to the society. CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is the nodal organization to implement this national initiative.

The prime mission of the initiative is to conserve scientifically validated traditional practices, and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific values of our traditional knowledge/practices.

We invite the suggestions of academicians, researchers, subject-matter experts, students, NGOs, and the public on how to instil confidence in society about our traditional knowledge and practices. This will help us in our mission to inculcate a scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens by stimulating the Science-Scientist-Society connect towards our traditional knowledge and practices.

In every school, there has to be a subject INDIAN CULTURE & YOGA SCIENCES which talks basics about OMKARA Chanting, Vedic Chantings and Yoga practices like Padmasan, Sukhasan, Ardha Pradmasan, Siddhasan and Vedic prayers for Global harmony and peace. The importance of health and longevity should be emphasised for healthy body and healthy mind…

Traditional knowledge and practices is backbone of our society and country. 1 Traditional knowledge should be written and publish in books with scientific evidence. 2 It should be collected from different society and culture of different part of country. 3 A national traditional research institute should be established for proper documentation of traditional knowledge and practise. 4 A awareness campaign should be launched for promote traditional knowledge and practise. 5 It shiuld be included in school syllabus as a subject.

First of all, the character building for every child was being done in Gurukuls, which develops virtues in the students like telling the truth, Helping others, forbearance, discipline and respect for elders like Guru, father, mother and Atithis….

Indian culture & ethos have had a much misrepresented view, till recent times. Our profound civilization doesn't get correct appraisal of the global/local community. Our image as a Nation is infested with vested foreign interests, and propaganda. Such repeated indiscretions have demeaned the most vibrant & oldest civility of the world. Our offerings are mostly stippled with ambiguities to rob us of our pride and cultural treasures. I resolved to change this through my work in films & reports. But in developing proud portrayals of our Heritage & Culture, I realized that such work was(& still is) routinely discouraged. We've fought great odds to make our works possible and continue in our own way to bolster image of India by putting forward a narrative that speaks to one & all globally & locally. To consolidate our traditional knowledge & practices (heritage) we need to help instill pride in our ppl by taking control over our content & be more prolific in our AV articulations. attd

Jai Hind, first create demand in society then only you will see results. Ask questions in exams related to this topic. Then students will read it. Publicise it's use in daily life. General public will discuss it. Universities and Institutions with credentials (IIT, IIM, IISc, DU, MU etc) should endorse and give recognition to this traditional knowledge and practices then only educated people will take it seriously. The non-Indian traditions and culture became cool by the influence of TV and movies. Let the TV series and Movies make it mandatory to mention these traditions or follow the practices in small doses. After watching Allu Arjun rock the traditional look in DJ I am thinking of using Dhoti. He also explained full meaning behind Hindu Scriptures to justify his actions. Take some notes from this movie and implement it in movies and series. Do not demonize non-Indian things. First insert Indian things. Let it get recognition. Then start bashing non-Indian things.

hello hello hi good like to see that what happened that department which are concern with the Science and Technology improvement development and training development quality development for the use that they will be available to get the job but it is not going on recording to the your plan in the state especially according to your plan in that Rajasthan Maharashtra West Bengal in other state the corruption is going on you should investigate supervis survey invisible evolute each and every department of state government to remove delete was the corruption but why does not going on it is now table things it is on Doubt confusion weather the corruption or going on from centre or the state government it should be stop immediately pollution corruption crime economic affairs traffic population increasing day by day why what was the reason behind it so many departments are in the last loss we cannot collect the revenue or Kinder generate benefit profit ask to why too slow very less revenue?

परंपरागत ज्ञान और रीति-रिवाज को हिन्दू धर्म के साथ जोड़ दिया जाता है। स्कूल में योग करवाया जाता है तो बच्चों पर उसके सकारात्मक प्रभाव की बजाय धर्मनिरपेक्षता खतरे में पड़ने की बात करके विवाद पैदा कर दिया जाता है। योग किनारे कर दिया जाता है। हिन्दी को तो छोड़ ही दें उसके विरोध के नाम पर तो कई राजनीतिक दलों की राजनीति की दुकान चल रही है। संस्कृत पढ़ाने पर विवाद। अगर बाबर को आक्रमणकारी बताते हैं तो विवाद। पृथ्वीराज को महान बताने पर विवाद। जो अंग्रेजों के द्वारा स्थापित शिक्षा व्यवस्था में पढया जाता है उसका भारत भूमि के सही इतिहास से कुछ लेना देना नहीं है लेकिन उसको सब पढ़ने को तैयार हैं। कोई विवाद नहीं है। बच्चों को अपने इतिहास की सही जानकारी कैसे मिलेगी। सरकार जब तक सख्त होकर निर्णय नहीं लेगी तब तक हर सही ज्ञान पर विवाद होता रहेगा। अकबर महान रहेगा और महाराणा प्रताप जंगलों में घास की रोटी खाते रहेंगे। हमारे रीति-रिवाज और ज्ञान सिर्फ़ धार्मिक कर्मकांड ही बने रहेंगे। वह विज्ञान भी था यह जब हमारे देश के अंदर ही हम नहीं मनवा पाएंगे तो बाहरी विश्व में कैसे साबित कर पाएंगे
