Recently, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the webinar on effective implementation of the Union Budget provisions in the defence sector. During his address, the Prime Minister said that the webinar was of great significance as it focused on the important issue of making the country’s defence sector self-reliant.

The Prime Minister said that the defence corridors that are being built in the country today would also help local entrepreneurs and local manufacturing. That is, today, self-sufficiency in our defence sector has to be seen as the empowerment of these two fronts – “Jawan as well as Youth”.

The key announcements in the Union Budget related to Defence Sector are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:
• Budgeted expenditure for capital outlay in defence increased by approx. 19%, highest in 15 years
• Disinvestment aimed in the sector to increase opportunities for private players
• Reduction in customs duty rates to nil for import of parts by public sector units (under Ministry of Defence) for manufacturing of aircrafts and parts

Introduce Tax Free Defence Bonds on attractive rates with a lock-in period. This will help in accumulating the capital for defence spendings to a large extent.

The future wars will be fought in distant mode through gadgets like AI driven drone/UAV clusters and coordinated precision warfare from the satellites. On the ground gorilla war fares will take place where loss of life will be minimal. Invest heavily on defense research rather than defense procurement with aim of Indigenous arms over long term, Technical spin offs that will be useful for civilian society and vice versa.Establish technical research Institutes take care of merit only.

Respected sir India is not only rich in cultural heritage but also in technology.Indian army ,noval and air force are excellent. But sir we have to focus on our Swadeshi technologies.Because our engineer s are so intellectual to make equipment to fight against the enemy.

Respected PM shri Narendra Modi, sir we have now started making unmanned helicopters, unmanned AMCA ( fighter plane ) etc. same way if we make unmanned army tanks then many soldiers's life can be safed as they would not have to go for fight manually on the army tanks They would control the army tanks which are same as controlled like drones or unmanned aircrafts.

Dear PM, Give contracts to private companies to make items such as camp gear, adventure/sports equipment, navigation gear, maps, MRE etc & also sell such items as military surplus items to public online. Fund specially skilled veterans like Vivek Jacob from para SF who r into promoting adv sports, to setup adv & physical training facilities, so that youth can train themselves for armed forces selection/self defence as well as adv sports.

Yes , I think govt run companies like HAL , BHEL, DRDO should be given a huge boost , and also new companies be set up to manufacture certain kind of military equipments as well. The defence sector needs a seperate allocation fund reserved for investing in startups that will make equipments/ software/hardware for the defence sector . More money should also be put in making exclusive satellites for the Army , Navy and Air force in order to improve intelligence and communication of our armedforce
