The financial sector plays an important role in the functioning of the economy through intermediation. Simply put, the financial sector sits between savers and borrowers: it takes funds from savers (for example, through deposits) and lends them to those who wish to borrow, be they households, businesses or governments.

Once upon a time we were the richest country without the present financial formulas. What is important is how you make all currencies flowing into India to buy Indian goods or services. Then comes the equations. If we have zero imports & everything is made in India. Our dependency on dollar comes down.we import gold & one of the largest buyers. But we don't have unity to to control gold prices. If every Indian says no to gold which is hypothetical but in reality it can do wonders.

Banks need to ensure that capital allocation to the infrastructure sector is to creditworthy borrowers. Crony lending has been a problem in the banking system. The Economic Survey also highlighted that the banking sector’s problems originated from large loans that were not necessarily lent to the most creditworthy borrowers. This problem gets far more accentuated in the context of infrastructure.
