The main objective of the smart city proposal is to promote and transform the existing cities with core infrastructure and Tourism Gateway development to give decent quality of life to its citizens in a clean and sustainable environment by application of 'smart' solutions.

Unlike a conventional scheme for development, this Smart city proposal is organized as a national wide competition among 100 cities by the Government of India. In the first level, 20 cities shall be shortlisted and taken up for further development in to smart cities. The remaining cities shall again compete to get selected in the next level.

Roads are badly degraded and traffic is too much & blocked due to the absence of bypass. Electricity and water supply are poor which should be improved.

A lot needs to be done. Focussing on basic infra & citizen centric approach will deftnly transform the city into smarter city.

Roads are blocked at most of the times and therefore width of roads should be increased. A solution to this problem is to construct some high rise buildings to include market complexes in them to avoid traffic congestion.

Intelligent Streetlights has to be implemented.A tiny intelligent module that includes sensors, wireless communication, and a dimmer that can be installed on any existing dimmable streetlight, and advanced software that controls streetlights, monitors electricity usage, and analyzes traffic data.

Solar electrification is required at various new and existing buildings to fight power shortage in my city. Solar street lights are required at roads and streets.

Quality of road construction should be ensured by putting stringent conditions in tenders like maintenance of roads for a minimum period of five years.
