The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

we require public wi-fi facility.Good infrastructrue of the city with good roads.The roads are too bad that it is completely filled with drainage water during the rain.we require pollution reduction as the city is full of pollution.We need hygenic city without pigs,because pigs are found all around in the city.The power cut is major problem and cause problem for the students and family.The medical facility is lacking in the city.There are hospitals which do not provide good medication.

its a proud moment that our davanagere is becoming smartcity soo soon n tnx fr the indian govt.....1st thing z davanagere z d centre f karnataka a lot of improovement shud b done with wrt city roads ,sanitary facility n other resoures too.... next thing z to to stop breeding of pigs out here fr d sake f cleanliness through d city.... next z city shud b properly planned to ve good communications system through d city.... in dis aspect dvg z lagging behimd...so d leaderrs shud b aware f this n

1.Awaid animals in the city. 2.setup super speciality health centers. 3.24 hours electricity and water supply. 4.Under ground cabels system must be improved. 5.Improving wide main roads. 6.Dont put trees in the road both side below the electricity piller. 7.leaving the city both poor and rich mans. 8.All rates may fix normal people.

I am overjoyed to hear that davangere is selected as one of the smartcity. I feel that the 4 main areas which has to be improved is transport,public safety,education and health centers. All the imbibants should actively participate and support the view of the government. The ideas should not be an illusionment and gov should make sure that this project should not be a burden to the backward classes.

please maintain cleanliness provide basic needs like water,electricity supply avoid slum areas provide waste recycling plant literate people about smart city concept please don't do any corruption work in smart city concept avoid child labors

1. 24*7 electricity. 2. Provide good water. 3. Maintain clean in all areas. 4. The main roads should be installed with dividers. 5. Construct the industries. 6. The underground bridges should be maintained properly.

the city has made a good progress in education field.its necessery to industrialise DVG.idea of smart city can be implemented only eith the co operation of peoples.so its necessery to ask their co operation in this regard.hope i can see dvg devoloping into smart city within few years.....
