The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

Davanagere is divided into two parts, the old davangere and the new one. the old davanagere is very poorly developed. It has to properly developed as well. The main problem is davangere is of stray pigs. It should be pig free. The city should be well connected to all parts of davanagere. The city lacks sports clubs. The city roads are poorly constructed and they get damaged very often. The roads should be constructed with quality materials. And smart city must have fly overs to reducetraffic

Construct the good roads,proper drainage system,give importance to the cleanliness of the city,construct more park's, proper waste management system,high-tech bus stand,reduce the pollution of city especially voice pollution and air pollution ,provide dustbin to everywhere,construct toilets(please give very much importance to this)..provide Wi-Fi to bus stand and railway station..

24*7 power supply,land acquisition must be avoided and toilet facilities for the poor should be given by the government,subsidy amount for various aspects should be sanctioned early and more encouragement should be given industrial aspects,persons standing for elections must be educated,people chosen from various ward should effectively involve in their ward work,IIT's and architectural colleges should be opened ,good roads,city bus facilities should be improved taking into regard safety.

1.The city should be clean. 2.The municipality should take care of empty sites and make sure they are clean. And the people who destroy empty sites should be punished according to law. 3.All the taluks and villages that are connected to davanagere city must also be developed. 4.In the name of smart city, lakes, pounds and water reserves that facilitate the farmers must not be destroyed. 5.E-Governance facilities should be provided to make the city a smart one.

1. Can build apartments for slum people. 2. Ban Plastic Covers, plastic made items. 3. People should be educated not use pan masala and other chewable and spit on roads. 4. Separate hygienic food courts 5. Avoid low quality food items during road side. 6. Educate people not create air pollution by vehicle horns and other sounds. 7. Ladies should be given awareness about the segregation dust and waste collected in the house and outside. 8. Safety and security for Women and girls
