The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

A city ll not bcome a smart one by just implementing the roads sanitation waste management etc... a city ll bcome smart wen the citizens of that city r smart so its better to improve the quality of education to people n ya one more idea is removing the local bus of davangere and implementing trams thy r les time consuming.

1)Plan through the sinerios of the city and devlop. 2)make the things affordable for common class of people. 3)Avoid slums, provide shelter. 4)Stop digging roads and stop cutting trees.

1)Education system should be improved n Research centres should be developed 2)It should become a smart city with tourist spots where even a foreigners can visit to DAVANGERE n recognised by all the states people 3)provide 24*7 power supply 4)City should be healthy with hygenic food and environment 5)provide public wifi,wastage management should be improved n recyled for the generation and production of environment
