The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

1.Pigs must be cleaned from the city 2.Proper road constructions must be done. 3.Implimentation of well planned drainage system. 4.Programmes must be carried to maintain a pollution free city 5.Health facilities must be improved 6.Rain water harvesting must be implimented 7.Parks must be maintained well

DVG lack basic needs, if this is taken care most of others will be in place 1. Well planned transportation system(not just new roads, but pavement, drainage, parking space etc) 2. 24/7 Electricity (generate our own electricity as much as possible using solar/wind etc) 3. Clean water for everyone daily, ways to store and recycle rain water. 4. So many new talented graduates from DVG every year, use their enthusiasm, and creativity to develop dvg. dvg will be best smart city in India...

1. Planting trees with Showy flowers as Avenue Trees. I can provide the list of important ornamental plants for beautiful Davangere 2. Inviting Agro-based industries for better job creation 3. Clean, pig less and Garbage free Davangere 4. The city should have science and technology parks 5. requesting Central Govt. or ICAR OR DST, should set up Rice Research Institute and Areca related research centre

The major issues to be taken care of are roads,proper sanitation systems,proper waste disposal and waste management.Other major issues include women safety,job opportunities and 24*7 power supply.

1. good health care centers 2. hygiene and good environment 3. provide 24 hrs electricity 4. roads are to be wider with good quality along with footpaths 5. proper disposal of waste 6. should be green city 7. provide parking place in market places 8. public toilets 9. transportation facilities 10. proper water supply
