Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

CONNECTION TO NEW BUS STAND ON GOKUL ROAD : A fly over should be built on RN SHETTY ROAD from Gokul Road Akshaya park pint to Indi Pump Point and then to Bankapur Chowk so that all the buses from Pune Bengaluru road can come to New BUS STAND without visiting Kittur Chennamma circle. Also Fly over is to be built from Gadag road to Keshwa pur and then to Hosur Circle , so that all Buses from Gadag road and Bijapur road can come New Bus stand & avoid Kittur Chennamma circle

As smart city is a new plan implemented by our respected prime minister we all should join hands with him and make our country a very well developed nation..... there are some of my plans here 1.As cleaning is very important in our nation,many more workers should be given the job of cleaning.From this many people get employment and our cities will also be clean. 2.Solar panels should be implemented on shed of the bus stands. 3.Conservation of water is important,so sensor taps should be used

1)Every first sunday citizens should devote 3 hours for cleanliness, development and beautification of its city.Lucky draws should me held among all citizens who have given their valuable time, and they should be rewarded handsomely so that other people also take active part. 2)HUBBALI-DHARWAD should be made BLUE CITY (light or dark blue both). BLUE PAINT should be made available at very cheap rate so that more and more people use it to make our city BLUE CITY.

1)Rainwater harvesting should be made compulsory for all new constructions and all govt offices. 2)Smart card for all purposes should be issued. 3)Reduced electricIty bilL should be rewarded. 4)Surprise checks should be done on govt offices for wasteage of water and electricity, not attending duty,taking bribe and not taking immediate steps on complaints and problems. 5)Ministers should not be called for any opening ceremony so that there is no traffic problem.

My best Knowledge i can suggest following: 1.Adequate water supply 2.Assured electricity supply 3.Sanitation, including solid waste management 4.Efficient urban mobility and public transport 5.Affordable housing, especially for the poor 6.Robust IT connectivity and digitalization 7.good governance, especially e-Governance and citizen participation 8.Sustainable environment 9.Safety and security of citizens, particularly women, children and the elderly, and Health and education. #SDMCET

1. Transparent governance. 2. Well laid roads with pedestrian paths. 3. Improving green cover. 4. 24*7 electricity supply. 5. Improved traffic management. 6. Well laid drainage system. 7. Better Solid waste management.

A city is not smart until it manages its waste well. Waste management process should be decentralised and locality based, quick and real time. It is surprising to note that 70% of waste is organic in nature & can be reprocessed before it becomes waste or, thereafter, can be recycled in a sustainable manner. *In Hubli–Dharwad summer season are worst in conditions as there as there is a shortage of electricty . But in Hubli–Dharwad 13% of electricity is used for street light. We can use that 13% of electricity to meet the demands of the people by using alternative methods to light the streets of Hubli-Dharwad.# By using Luminous paint and applying it the roads helps in conserving the electricity .These luminous paint absorb sunlight energy in day time and display this light in night. Here are my some of the plans how we can improve our Hubli-Dharwad. 1. Cleanliness is one of the main problems. Spitting is a major problem. People should be fined when they are caught in sight of the police. Garbage on the roads must be clened and city must have more garbage trucks. 2street lights and traffic lights must be installed with solar panels. The buses must use 20% of biofuel for 1ltr diesel which will be more ecofriendly. 3. Building flyovers in city connecting parts of city
