I have been hearing a lot about real estate companies investing in New Town and the Rajarhat area. It was not until the last week that I got to visit the place as we are planning to purchase property there. Truly, if the infrastructure turns out to be what is promised, this location will definitely be one of the best places to live in West Bengal, if not India!

With the new smart flats coming up in New Town, it would be great to shift there and live near my workplace. The added amenities make the proposition of living in this area more interesting. The question is, what would be the best place to look for an apartment there?

Smart City can only happen when the proper waste control and good transportation is taken into consideration. I would be happy to see if these are changed soon in the concerned area of Kolkata.

As a Kolkatan, I am always concerned about the waste management of the city. I hope New Town gets a good waste management structure so that people living around are free from unwanted diseases.

I would be very happy if Wi-Fi is made available in the buses. It will be easier for us to do office works on the go. This is the thing which I really want from the Smart City initiative in New Town.

While New Town has one pharmacy, areas in Rajarhat like the one with Pride Hotel, opposite to Axis Mall too requires one. It is helpful to have more than one pharmacy in the New Town area.

A city with good communication systems is called a smart city. In order to see Rajarhat as one, it must be ensured that the residents never face any issues with communications, especially at the times of emergency.

A smart city should be clean and should have good public transportations. The residents should be aware steps to keep their surroundings clean and transportation facilities should be available even after midnight in case of an emergency.
