Rourkela City, the steel city of Odisha, located on the banks of river Koyal and Brahmani has been shortlisted as one of the SMART Cities under Government of India’s’ SMART City Mission. Under this Mission Rourkela is required to prepare SMART City Plan and formulate its own unique vision and strategies through active consultation of its citizens and all stakeholders. Rourkela Municipal Corporation requests all Rourkelites to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions to transform Rourkela into SMART City.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions for the Area Based Strategies: Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area); Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure); Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable PAN City Initiative.

Rourkela Municipal Corporation is looking forward for valuable suggestions from all the citizens of Rourkela. Grab this opportunity to be a part of this challenge to transform STEEL CITY into SMART CITY.

Last date to submit your valuable ideas and suggestions is 30th November, 2015.

A well planned township with all basic faciltie.its one of the cleanest and best city found ..its more often called a mini india..so rourkela should be a smart city..

Now it's time for an airport in Rourkela.Once it is done the development will be faster and also we have to conduct some basic training for people to use the internet.

To maintain our surrounding as clean like proper need to our waste product like rubbish.It must maintain the members of ward of councilor of the entire town.

Need Clean City.. Green City.. Hygienic City... Fruit City.. Smart City.. Pan City.. We hope that we achieve the target. Thanks to our Chairman for his dedication,devotion and very hard labour to achieve Rourkela as a Pan City.

The traffic rules and regulations should be made strict. Like in European countries, the vehicles shall follow designated lane so that the traffic looks disciplined and chaos free.Rourkela shall be the first Indian city to adopt this and that will set an example of how Haldia is different from rest of India.
