Rourkela City, the steel city of Odisha, located on the banks of river Koyal and Brahmani has been shortlisted as one of the SMART Cities under Government of India’s’ SMART City Mission. Under this Mission Rourkela is required to prepare SMART City Plan and formulate its own unique vision and strategies through active consultation of its citizens and all stakeholders. Rourkela Municipal Corporation requests all Rourkelites to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions to transform Rourkela into SMART City.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions for the Area Based Strategies: Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area); Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure); Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable PAN City Initiative.

Rourkela Municipal Corporation is looking forward for valuable suggestions from all the citizens of Rourkela. Grab this opportunity to be a part of this challenge to transform STEEL CITY into SMART CITY.

Last date to submit your valuable ideas and suggestions is 30th November, 2015.

Special focus should be on women security; special and time bound response in case of emergency. Only when women can move freely we can say anything is improving

to make rourkela smart city we have to make the urban transport and public commuting easy more buses and road networks should be introduced in Rourkela. Environment friendly battery operated buses and small buses could be game changer for city dwellers of Rourkela who have often suffer a nightmare of getting public transport during night. Radio Taxi Service for Rourkela is need of time. Please make this as soon as possible.

Rourkela को स्मार्ट सिटी बनाने के लिए जो सबसे ज़रूरी पहल है, वो है सबसे पहले निचली बस्तियों को जहां गालियां होती हैं, सकरे रास्ते होते हैं, उनमे भरपूर सुधार/सुविधा ईमानदारी से देना। क्यूंकि जिसे हम पाश कॉलोनी कहते हैं वहाँ रहने वाले खुद इतने रसुखदार ओर अपप्रोच वाले होते हैं की अपने सारे काम फोन पर ही करा लेते हैं ओर उनके काम आसानी से हो जाते हैं, चाहे जैसा भी काम क्यूँ न हो। परेशानी तो हम जैसे गरीब लोगों के साथ होती है। मैं अपना कहूँ तो आज तक मेरे घर ओर मेरी बस्ती मैं सीवेज नि
