Rourkela City, the steel city of Odisha, located on the banks of river Koyal and Brahmani has been shortlisted as one of the SMART Cities under Government of India’s’ SMART City Mission. Under this Mission Rourkela is required to prepare SMART City Plan and formulate its own unique vision and strategies through active consultation of its citizens and all stakeholders. Rourkela Municipal Corporation requests all Rourkelites to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions to transform Rourkela into SMART City.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions for the Area Based Strategies: Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area); Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure); Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable PAN City Initiative.

Rourkela Municipal Corporation is looking forward for valuable suggestions from all the citizens of Rourkela. Grab this opportunity to be a part of this challenge to transform STEEL CITY into SMART CITY.

Last date to submit your valuable ideas and suggestions is 30th November, 2015.

In order to make the city smart don't wait for the central fund. Take smart initiatives to make the smart. - Besides this suggestion page another similar facebook page can be created where users can add their suggestion. Though facebook can be widely used so tag peoples those who belongs to Odisha. Provide times to time updates on the given suggestions. Like whether initiate can be taken on the suggestions or not?

It should be senior citizen friendly city and government It means,proper local,cheap transport reaching every lane of complex sectors so that these people find easy mobility

Provide maps and show distance in free of cost to peoples arrives to rkl station- Street rules for real estate developer to make roads, sewage, drainage, Security systems like CCTV installed in buildings.

Every citizen must use this resource only for domestic help. This will reduce crimes and ease out derth of domestic help.This will also generate lot of jobs to people. These domestic helps must be trained by professional house keeping agency
