Recognising the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 11th December 2014 proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY). Since 2015, this day has been observed to remind people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga and build public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health.
The preparations for the 9th International Day of Yoga (IDY2023) have already begun, and the Ministry of Ayush (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the citizens.

Every year IDY is observed with a theme. The themes of the previous years are given below:

7. 2021 Yoga for Wellness
8. 2022 Yoga for Humanity

With this backdrop, MoA invites all citizens to share their ideas on how to observe the 9th IDY with a theme. Name the theme and describe how to celebrate this IDY keeping the theme in mind.

Last Date of Submission is 31st March 2023.

Dear Sir, this year theme should be "yog to embrace knowledge" Our thousands yrs of history tell us that yog was done so that when medication/tapsya is done then, our body is string enough to handle the kundlini awakening and that's the source of knowledge, wisdom and science of connecting to universal liberary. Request you to create awareness that yog can help us embrace, sustain the Trans and explore the possibilities to touch different relms ...all our sages even asur have achieved power, knowledge they tapsya, sadhna with the help of yog...

एक समय था जब आजीविका में कृषि को श्रेष्ठतम माना जाता था,आज भी गृहस्थ योगियों के लिए वही ब्यवस्था श्रेयस्कर है। हां जिनके जीवन का लक्ष्य विलासिता से जीवन यापन है,और धन दौलत से सुख- समृद्धि प्राप्त करने की लालसा है,उनका नाता योग से भला कैसे जुड़ सकता है।कहने का आशय यह है कि श्रमसाध्य जीवन ही वास्तव में योग है।

2023 YOGA FOR NUTRITION This is accurate suggested theme for this year's International Yoga Day. As we know that 2023 is being celebrated as International Millets Year.Yoga and Mallets are complementary to each other. Health and NUTRITION are also complementary to each other. Therefore this year's theme is very appropriate as Yoga for Nutrition.
