Namami Tate Is a campaign brought to you by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with the Government of India. This campaign is part of the Government of India’s 75 week celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav. Through Namami Tate, we are targeting cleaning of some of the dirtiest beaches of India with the help of the Government as well as fellow citizens. Beaches play a fundamental role in maintaining the health of the oceans and also provide habitat to a number of marine species.

However, last year, a group of researchers from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) found that the north-east Arabian Sea, just off Mumbai, contained an estimated 379 MT of marine debris of which plastics contributed to 40.6% of the total by weight. A major portion of this debris washes up on the beaches creating health, environmental, economic as well as social hazards. The fast-paced growth of the tourism sector combined with the lack of awareness on the part of citizens about the damaging impact of pollution is one of the leading causes of the abysmal condition of our beaches. The Namami Tate campaign aims to clean these beaches and protect our precious marine biodiversity.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences invites suggestions from the citizens of India about the innovative ways in which we can conduct this beach cleaning activity. We value your suggestions which would be instrumental in implementing this campaign.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th August 2022.

Trash left on the beach is not just unattractive, it can wash back into the water and create safety hazards for visitors and aquatic life. Oh my dear friend you are seriously sick dont you think so,you are in danger,so my dear friends kindly humble request to you all not to throw waste,either of plastics or anything else into water.If you want me to be kind to you please keep my body clean and will make my promise for you to have fun in my besutiful beach or water places.

respected minister . I am K Venkatlakshmi from karanataka raichur I would like to tell is there should be recycled bins near the surrounding of the beach and there is establishment of boot which can spread awareness among the people . and there should of some proverbs like . "keep our city clean and don't pollute the water . and some arrangements made like some real toys like the person wearing teddy bear dress and creating awareness and some paints which can help the people to understand the pollution level caused by them . and sending the vehicles to collect the trash from the bins . Use trash cans crafted with cultural significance in an artistic way. Make a design that will use trash to buy things with that in the beach. People would feel encouraged to do so and would make it a habit and be part of the ecosystem.

Firstly the people should be educated about the cleanliness. Second the cleaning part from the government should be strong and they should work whole heartedly. now they are just doing something and going. No authoritative person are looking what they are doing..

The only public way for people to go to the beach is by the government or by taking charge of the shops and providing food only in those shops. Removing the food stalls on the beaches and on the roads. We will be vigilant

cleaning can only be obtained by motivating people to not to throw the waste in open area. it can be done by fear like some fine or rewards like some prize but more than this it must come in thier mindset like an example. other them realising the public, govt also need to realise the infrastructure point, govt must help people to make it really a attraction by provide proper parking, waste collection points and regular cleaning service, which is purely missing at most of the places. it's advised to work hand in hand for public and government. it's high time in India that we are just running the campaign and getting no results in cleaning.
