Namami Tate Is a campaign brought to you by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with the Government of India. This campaign is part of the Government of India’s 75 week celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav. Through Namami Tate, we are targeting cleaning of some of the dirtiest beaches of India with the help of the Government as well as fellow citizens. Beaches play a fundamental role in maintaining the health of the oceans and also provide habitat to a number of marine species.

However, last year, a group of researchers from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) found that the north-east Arabian Sea, just off Mumbai, contained an estimated 379 MT of marine debris of which plastics contributed to 40.6% of the total by weight. A major portion of this debris washes up on the beaches creating health, environmental, economic as well as social hazards. The fast-paced growth of the tourism sector combined with the lack of awareness on the part of citizens about the damaging impact of pollution is one of the leading causes of the abysmal condition of our beaches. The Namami Tate campaign aims to clean these beaches and protect our precious marine biodiversity.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences invites suggestions from the citizens of India about the innovative ways in which we can conduct this beach cleaning activity. We value your suggestions which would be instrumental in implementing this campaign.

The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.

The last date to receive suggestions is 15th August 2022.

3 GOLDEN RULES 1. Strict Penalty: People don't care about rules and know very well about breaking the rules and pollute. By following other nations, we need to have a very strict law system and heavy penalties. 2. Nationalism: People outside the home wherever they go think that they places are not their home. People should have a mindset that it is our home nation. In view of this, we may install national flag around the beaches. Each and every minutes, they stay at the beaches, should be reminded very well with nationalism kind of symbols. So that they will become alright and pollution will become lesser. 3. Private companies: Private companies should be permitted to decorate the beaches and with their businesses with promotion of beach activities such as parasailing, beach volleyball, scuba diving and etc. with strict code and conduct. This is one of the ways to beatify the beaches without pollution.

Envolve School students in cleaning activities by collaborating with any local NGO, because when they will clean by themselves they will learn the importance of it, and as they grow they will develop automatically a sense of cleanliness. It will impact the environment in long term.

Non productive Govt programme be looked into. Training for the sack of training are going on in large number just to conclude Govt programme. No information to prospective participants , rather always engaging participants known to the officials are examples of this case. It seems many people do not know how to get loan from bank Many still look into getting loans through touts and bribery. Many time they fails after wasting a lot of time. Entrepreneurship training with prospective entrepreneurs may be encouraged. Not training for the sack of training. Research may be done why many entrepreneurs are not getting bank loans. Policy should be framed how to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and Bank...

In those days, if people were throwing trash in the corner of the cross of the streets, people used to set mini temples. Afterwards, that place will start remain clean. Need not have to be temple always, but something similar can be set up. Every beach can have children play area, sheds to have food, a mini museum which shows the pride of the city, etc. Also small children can be encouraged to put their trash in the trash bin. They will guide the accompanying adults easily. Young teenage children to college goers are more patriotic. They can help to clean the trash just like setting up tree samplings. Group of employees especially from government offices can also be encouraged to the same.
