Any consumer movement can be successful only with the whole-hearted participation by the consumers. All the citizens of the country are consumers in one way or the other. The citizens, therefore, is expected to be pro-active in identifying misleading advertisement, suggest effective measures to tackle such advertisements and are also expected to offer out of the box ideas so that the movement against misleading advertisement can really picks up the desired momentum.

Suggestions are invited regarding action that citizen can take against Misleading Advertisements.

Not only the advertisements, but also some TV programs are misleading and in the disguise of program, they are actully marketinng/propogand for some person'sor institution's image and thereby promotinng their businesses. This trick is mostly used by socaalled religious saints or Babas. Most prominnent example is Nirmal Baba. Earlier Asaram Bpu was also popular on TV. Sir, like before releasing the movie the Censor board if satisfied that movie doesn't seem any wrong might or anything make proper investigation give permission so same in that the government should setup a board which will make sure about advertisement is not misleading and not against a lawful purposes only then should give a permission to advertising the any advertisement and law should be made for that this will give a testing of advertising possible and can save citizens from misleading

Misleading---the only way is to educate the citizen. neither you can stop nor your can act on such advertisement, something like Chit funds...

There is incoherence in policy regarding which Department should ideally deal with all Misleading , and False advertisements. Ideally this should be the concern of the Department of Consumer Affairs as this is something that affects all consumers and citizens.There shold be an overarching power given to Department of Consumer Affairs .And a Jury of inter ministerial Committee shall hear complaints from consumers to decide. The verdict of the Jury shall be FINAL and cannot be raised in a court.

Respected Sir, in Tamilnadu Thoothukudi District Villathikulam TOWN The State Bank Of India Branch.Sir here they are not Collecting the Aadhar,Non Aadhar based LPG Subsidy seeding application properly the Customers went to submit there seeding forms they told them to come Next day or another day and next week. Sir here full of Farmers.they have problem to submit the Subsidy forms. Sir please do something in this Matter Thanking You

why target misleading advertiser. why not take action against TV channels who are promoting them for money. poison of casteism, communalism found in society, both after, during, before elections is the creation of media only. these misguided, money hungry, foreign controlled media are now playing role of irresponsible opposition by hitting Modi government, by showing news with communal colour. why they are not discussing economic agenda of Modi govt? pl control anti-national/people media by law.

Advertisers are skipping the law by adding terms and cond. in too small letters. The size of letters for terms & cond should be fixed to a readable size. Open an online portal where the latest decisions by consumer courts in India can be published so that people can get confidence to approach Cons Courts.
