Citizens cannot take much action against as 90% ads are mostly leading away from the truth, if the ad tells his - you shampoo has harmful chemicals- will it ever sell ? So it is telling you,at nice, soft hair, instead of untested chemicals that are put,so a very premise that citizens can take action, is wrong. The certification of the product should be made and an advertiser should display that certification of the product rank with the ad.

Citizens are the victims of misleading ads. It is largely the responsibility of the govt to safeguard them from the malice of misleading ads and its not all that difficult as both the source and media are known and can be punished. Govt should educate public to be aware of such ads and facilitate reporting of such ads. It will be only theoretical if we expect the public to analyse the ads and not get influenced by misleading ads. If the public was so smart, this problem would not exit at all.

The provisions pertaining to the "Advertisements Code" may added to the Consumer Protection Act so that Citizen can file cases against Misleading Advertisements before the Consumer Courts.

Responsibilities of advertising group /body should be fixed .They should not allow to post misleading advertisement in their media house before checking actual facts about them. Some facts are so clear but to make money they ignore them.
