Data connectivity cannot be a privilege for urban population, but has to get penetrated to the rural population as well. They are presently deprived of this . And What I see is that business case of Rural Wifi hinges mainly on the back-haul pipe and Internet pipe costing which make this commercially nonviable at present cost level. Entrepreneurs who are willing put skin in the game shy away because of this non-viability. This cost need to get rationalized for Rural penetration.

Proliferation of Broadband in Public Network may have to be strengthened for speed of connectivity and also ensuring prope security protocol to take care of mis-use. While specifiying a specific time limit for access, the access to public networks like IRCTC, Gov.in could be kept out of the time access.
The expansion of WiFi Spots all over India is a must.
I am sure this exercise will go long way in liberating public access network and expanding the telecommunication access to common public

The government has its BSNL wi-fi network, which does not functions upto the required level due to so many reasons. But one of the reason is lack of technical support. Under such circumstances a possibility of obtaining the support from various linux user groups which are already functioning across the country need to explored. Also if any thing works out using open source technology it will benefit the country.
