The expansion of banking and reach of financial services is considered to be vital for the long-term sustainable development of any country. From the standpoint of equity, it is essential that financial services are provided at an affordable cost to those who are presently excluded from the formal financial system. Mobile telephony could be the answer to the problems related to ‘last mile’ service delivery of financial services.

In order to identify and address the various issues for the use of USSD-based Mobile Financial Services, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released Consultation Paper on ‘Review of regulatory framework for the use of USSD for mobile financial services’ on 2nd August, 2016 for comments.

The objective of this Consultation Paper (CP) is to examine the need of mobile based financial services in the country from a public perspective, discuss the issues in its proliferation and to explore solutions for the same.

The Authority has extended the time for submission of comments upto 14th September, 2016 and counter comments by 28th September, 2016.

For mobile financial service you point is well enough to consider but do you think It is applicable for all. I mean to say a local labour person able to use that If a person who work whole day in a sunny day for 400 rs then how he can use this service.. Please try to make policy which for all not for some business groups... Regards Rahul

Govt should give the operating of landline,broadband,mobile service of BSNL to another listed govt company MTNL to improve the service of BSNL. Already MTNL is register in company act , they proved business model in mumbai and delhi. latter stage govt to merger the BSNL with MTNL like reverse merge which automatically listed in NSE and BSE comes under corporate governance. Ask MTNL to invest in underground optical network which connect india with rest of world to improve the corportatecustom

New new banking techniques are launching to make banking easiest and less time but there are some banking works which are traditional till now and they need modernization. Govt. Must firstly modernized the traditional banking work. A person makes a demand draft from his saving a/c and apply for a job.later he get to know that the job was fake.money still in bank's a/c and bank refused to refund the money because of non availability of original D.D. This traditional banking needs modernization.

In respect to banking financial services & regulations, I want to suggest that, the modern period is of people and customer, "customer is great", the facilities should be given to customer as per requirement of customer, but, the security and safety of money should be regulated according the the govt. rules and regulation in large interest of public and nation,caution should be proper & sharp to save from fraud and malfunctioning in the financial transactions, system should be transperant,thks
