Muzaffarpur is one of the largest commercial and educational center in North Bihar. It is famous for litchis which is a fruit famous fruit.

Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. Our city “MUZAFFARPUR” ranks 94th with 42 mark in the first round of the Smart city Selection process.

The Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritize the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation Muzaffarpur are requested Muzaffarpur’s Citizen to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure.

To update our proposal in order to achieve the benchmark set by the MoUD and the winning cities, Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation Appeal the Citizens to engage and provide their suggestions in formulation of the Smart City Proposal for our city Muzaffarpur.

Sustainable architecture of buildings (maximum use of sunlight, domestic waster water utilization, kitchen gardens and natural ventilation) should be mandatory for all buildings worth more than say, Rupees one crore or 35 feet high or 10,000 sq.feet area.

It may look crazy but still it will make better economic and ecological sense, if we promote urban animal husbandry and agriculture / horticulture, using the urban organic waste as fertilizer and irrigation water source

Every built area should have ample open space. If it is to be achieved, the tax incentives must be sufficiently high. Here, we must use the proverbial a carrot and stick approach. This open space will make recycling and re-using of the natural resources a cost effective option.

I appreciate your feelings but the smart city is a government project. The government will decide which city will be selected or not under 100 smart cities.

शहर के हर क्षेत्र में अलग-अलग किस्म के धातुविक एवं अधातुविक कचरे मिलते है । शहर से निकलने वाला पानी भी साफ करके नदी में गिराने हमारा लक्ष्य है। जिससे जैविक संतुलन बना रहेगा ।
