The temple city of Tirupati has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the potential 100 smart cities in India. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritise the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati are requested to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure. It is expected that the citizens participate in this exercise and help Tirupati successfully traverse the path of transforming itself in to a Smart.

Concrete footpaths require less maintenance and are long lasting. If you are going to leave every place open with sand blowing with wind then whole city will look dirty. Have a look at other cities in western world. All areas have concrete footpaths well layed and not crappy tiles. 3. Install automatic traffic cameras with sensors in roads which click pictures automatically for traffic violations. You will recover money from the fines.

Considering the existing scenario of Public transport, it is very important to increase the bus fleet with more number of bus routes plying in all parts of the city. A city bus running within the city with high frequency and features. off-board ticketing and route information etc. will enhance the usage of public transport to a great extent.

A city cannot become a smart city until the administration of the city is active and shows some responsibility. Because it is very easy to give excuses but if some one try to solve some problem he needs much less time as he take to give excuses.
