The temple city of Tirupati has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the potential 100 smart cities in India. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritise the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati are requested to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure. It is expected that the citizens participate in this exercise and help Tirupati successfully traverse the path of transforming itself in to a Smart.

in our India sewerage system is not according to the need of future planning so firstly we need to invest on good planning of sewerage so there should be no water lodgement on roads in rainy days.

Maximum utilization of solar power for street lights and rain water harvesting for water scarcity and also to overcome water logging. This is what a Smart kanpur should have still there are lack of Street Lights in various parts of the city. All street lights should be replaced with LED lights. A well lit city is a Smart City.

Try to focus on basic problems which lead to other problems like - cleanliness, congestion, traffic, Govt. services. Do not try to solve the problems with a complex solution and follow the KISS(Keep It Simple). Cleanliness - install garbage bins, impose fine, sensitize people. Congestion - for new developments, make wide roads first then build city around it. Focus on green parks, play areas, breathing spaces at intervals. Even websites - keep them simple and functional instead of jazzy.
