The temple city of Tirupati has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the potential 100 smart cities in India. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation is currently working on upgrading its proposals for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to prioritise the areas for intervention. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati are requested to examine the earlier proposals in detail and identify The gaps in the light of the Guidelines / Generic gaps issued by the MOUD and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure. It is expected that the citizens participate in this exercise and help Tirupati successfully traverse the path of transforming itself in to a Smart.

Smart Mobility for a Smart City Mobility and transport are essential if a city is to function properly. And Faridabad, unfortunately, is stupid in that sense. Efforts should be made to make modal share of PT & IPT more than 60%. Real-time traffic data should be made available to citizens by use of ICT/mobile app. Phase out the manual traffic management systems and introduce smart (ICT based) traffic management systems. Also, by-passable traffic on GT Road should be made to use By-pass roads
