Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

The Cycle ricksaw should operated in the outer area A smart city should promote the innovative ideas, there should be synchronization with the BHU on this The Research undertaken at the BHU should be used in the development of the smart city. The smart city proposal should have voices of all classes of the citizens E- Governance should also be given priority in the smart city proposal

The Lanka and Bhelupur area should be taken under retrofitting The Vishwanath temple areas should be declared cattle free area There should be 24 x 7 water supply in smart city There should be clearn drinking water with 24 hours assured water supply in the city Weavers should have a separate colony for their job

The Ghat area should be having one way traffic for ease in the movement The Cycle ricksaw should operated in the outer area The traffic management should have different timing for various signals of light There should be modern Special Economic Zone ( SEZ) in varanasi. For the town to become smart it is necessary that the people of the town are also smart The smart parking facility should be developed all around the city.

In Varanasi the worst point of view is that everyday accidents occurs in about thousands but political leaders are still having no view at that point.When any ministers comes for viewing the Varanasi, all the major parts from where the ministers have to come are build in good position only for that moment otherwise no effect cause to any one. Get make rid from this huge problem. Think about it.
