Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

Assured water and electricity supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport, robust IT connectivity, e-governance and citizen participation, safety and security of citizens.

कमेरा-- हर बस्ती ओर मोहल्ले चाहे वह निचली हों या पॉश पॉइंट टु पॉइंट केमेरे लगाए जाये ताकि किसी प्रकार की कोई घटना न कर सके ओर गंदेगी फेलने वालों पर भी नज़र रहे।

- Develop Sarnath and Aunrihar as terminal railway stations. This will divert traffic and provide huge traffic relief to Varanasi city area. - Relocate vegetable market from Panchkosi, Ashapur. Cause of major traffic jam as its located on the main road connecting Ashapur and Varanasi. - Control stray cattle on road causing accidents and traffic disruptions. - Sanitary pads at subsidized rates. Available in female washrooms. - Ban use of polythenes - Cover open drains #Varanasi #SmartCity

- Enough space for parking at all bus stands/railway stations. This will allow people to use personal transport to reach stand and use public transport from there on. - Install dividers on road to avoid road interruptions by side crossing vehicles at T junctions. - Strict actions against encroachments on road. - Street Lights - State transport connecting major routes. e.g. Varanasi - Chirraiyakot #Varanasi #SmartCity #MyGov
