Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

स्वच्छ पीने का पानी की व्यवस्था एवं वर्षा के पानी हेतु हार्वेस्टिंग तथा ट्रान्सपोर्ट व्यवस्था की जानी चाहिये

स्वच्छता सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिये, कचरा प्रबंधन डोर-टू-डोर, सड़क गुणवत्ता में सुधार, सीवेज व्यवस्था दुरूस्त एवं बच्चो के खेलने के स्थानों का विकरण ।

शहर में निम्नमूल भूत ुसुविधाओं के स्तर में उचित सुधार आना चाहिये जल प्रबन्धन, विदुत प्रदाय एवं वितरण प्रबन्धन, शहरी यातायात सर्व साधारण को मकान की सुविधा प्रदूषण नागरिकों विशेषकर महिलाओं ओर बच्चों की सुरक्षा शिक्षा एवं स्वास्थय कुशल प्रशासनिक प्रबन्दन

Like IT company In a smart city information should be available in a transparent way through website of all departments. Departments should have web application and department email id for approvals for any service request there should be online submitting of request and callcenter facility should be available. service timeframe should be there and service request should be closed by requester only. unless request should be in open state and should move to higher authorities for proper action.

Provision of foot paths for pedestrians and road tracks for cyclists to promote safe walking and cycling for better promotion of health towards conservation of fossil fuels
