Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

First of all make people and police smart then make smart city,I felt somewhere #PM has failed and I hope this city doesnt develop untill these bad people dont vanish varansi is worst city will never go there even will ask everyone i know not to go there #PM you and your government is just a regret

I was in varansi on 14th of this month and what I expierienced will never let me go to this city again, police at this city is damn corrupt i didnt expect it as its prime ministers constituency, i was threatened and looted by some guys who work for some sonkar guy,and they said police takes money from us go away if you want to live I thought they might be right because before that some policemen asked bribe from me to park my vehicle at 3 am,shame on the U.P.government. #PM

first easy step for smart city: renovating/repainting so many of the old, ugly shops/buildings... people really judge a book by its cover...

Utilisation of Local FM Radio for spot information relay on road congestion or blockade to car users as well as through Public Address System by Traffic Police to others

Govt.quarters should be provided to all govt employee with well furmished furniture along with water and electricity supply.

Technology driven Solid Waste Management (addressing largely cost effectiveness, capacity utilization, environment building, professional M&E) 2. Traffic Management (Using Mobile App for real time solutions) 3. Urban infrastructure Management 4. Grievance redressal system"

स्मार्ट सिटी बनाने के लिए सरकार को पहल करनी चाहिए।यह शहर विश्व मानचित्र पर अपनी एक पहचान रखता है।अतः यहाँ पर विश्व स्तरीय सुविधाएँ होनी चाहिए।
