Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

One of the major problems of the varanasi city is lackness in the working of police..traffic police which is resulting in lots and lots of disturbance in the city so correction of police is also a major step to be taken so as to make Varanasi the first smart city of India. !!!

Varanasi is a developing rather I would say fast developing city in today's world !it is the city having such a institute(bhu),historical places (sarnath)..and world famous Ganga ghats will can be even more developed..attractive..and profitable for indian government bcoz it will also increase the tourism and will be giving a higher value to india in world..so varanasi must be given the honour of first smart city of India because it would be attractive,developed but profitable too..!! DALIMSS !

शहर की का सौन्दर्योिकरन होना चाहिए सरकारी कार्य समय पर पूर्ण होना चाहिए | एवं सरकारी कर्मचारियों द्वारा नियमो का पूर्ण रूप से पालन होना चाहिए | पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देना चाहिए
