Ganga will be cleaned once hearts are cleaned. Bad luck is, in India all counted with money. People think spending money can clean the Ganga. No not, everyone has to take responsibility for the same. In my opinion camps should be organised to educate people often or advertisement which impacts youth awareness. Programme should be conduct right from primary school about cleaniness.CPCB and UPPCB are just functioning for nothing only menting money. We need some company to educate industry also.

EK DIN MAA GANGA KE LIYE", PROGRAMME encouraged all over india for voluntary service from all over india.(just like STATUE OF UNITY mission).people will aware about cleanness of Ganga and also how to keep clean gram,city,road,garden,lake,etc.It will be YATRA,SEVA,SAMARPAN FOR PEOPLE. NGO should be enocuraged and proper planning and administration should be managed by government/Authority etc.

A full bird eye view of Ganga flow needed. i.e. where are all the sewage mixes + Villages near by + their beliefs of throwing dead body in Ganga + practice of how they treat river + practics of throwing wastes in river (incl. pooja performance etc). These peoples are stakeholders, entire belt of Ganga, a complete awareness of clean Ganga to be created for 2 yrs+.. Stop sewage mixes in Ganga... At designated places, Ganga river to be diverted for Cremation related to take care of Beliefs...

Implement the Balance Score Card (BSC) to achieve clean ganga. Responsibility will be distributed from top to Bottom using BSC. Central government will set the targets to the states, States will distribute it to the Gram panchayath. Stick & carrot approach and Competition among the Grampanchayath should be used to bring in the best from the Gram panchayaths. Without involving the local population and gram panchayath, clean ganga mission will fail as cleaned water will be polluted again.

We could look at turning the problem into an opportunity. Instead of letting sewage into the river, install biogas plants on the city municipal sewage systems feeding into the river. You clean the water and get a free supply of valuable biogas and fertilizer (from the residue). The clean river can now become a major tourist attraction too, another source of income. This income can be used for the financial sustenance of the project.
