पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र में यदि तेल और गैस का दोहन उचित रूप से किया जाये तो यह उस क्षेत्र के लोगों के लिए आर्थिक समृद्धि का एक स्रोत हो सकता है। वर्तमान में क्षेत्र के स्‍थानीय समुदायों और अन्‍वेषण तथा उत्‍पादन प्रचालकों के बीच कोई संपर्क नहीं है। इससे क्षेत्र में अन्‍वेषण और उत्‍पादन संबंधी कार्यों में कमी आ रही है और इसने इस क्षेत्र में परिचालन के लिए खरीदार की संख्या को कम कर दिया है। हालांकि भारत सरकार ने पूर्वोत्‍तर क्षेत्र में अन्‍वेषण और उत्‍पादन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अनेक पहलें शुरू की है लेकिन इस प्रक्रिया में स्‍थानीय समुदायों की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना आवश्यक है।

इस कार्य में स्थानीय लोगों की भागीदारी कैसे बढाई जा सकती है, इससे संबंधित सुझाव दें।

I have some suggestions for this: 1. In Odisha flow-meter should be introduced like some other states. 2. All depot officials should be transferred on regular basis just to break the vicious circle that has been created over the years. All staff means all staff, it is mostly the junior level workers or clerks who facilitate it in connivance with higher officials. 3. All Tank-lorries to be re calibrated under honest supervision. 4. All the Tank- lorries should be surprise checked.

In Odisha the general petroleum consumers are fleeced every time they purchase petroleum products. The chain runs like this- Most of the Tank-lorries are manipulated with wrong calibration certification, so that they carry less quantity of product than the certified amount. This is in connivance with officials from Petroleum Company and legal metrology dept. The other method is siphoning by the transporters in connivance with the oil company officials. The gas connection should be provided to an an individual rather than a household or residential location. That way every person can have a gas connection irrespective of where he lives and his gas connection moves with him. The gas subsidy can then be decided on the basis of an individual rather than a household. For e.g. 3-4 cylinder per gas connection. A bigger household then can have more cylinders and smaller will have less. Individual subsidy would be easier to track than per household.

all our petrolium company should start cost cutting in their expences , like they can reduce in stationary ( pencil ,pen. stuppler new supply satrt in monitor , all know where they mostly used office or h.... In past also observed when thses company in loss but they not used cost cutting in travel , stationary etc.Also in budject session some group of goverment leader start tarnsport sharing

Today, Petroleum products, viz., Petrol & Diesel are cheaper but what would be the future. It is going to be costlier and will cost exchequer. To take this opportunity and maintain the balance (as we import 80% of oil), should levy more excise duty on vehicles which give less mileage and give subsdty for small cars,vehicles using alternate fuel or consuming less fuel. Secondly, the signal policy in Metro cities need to be revamped.
