Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

To make a smarter city, we the citizens need to be enthusiastic just to make it happen. There is much need to each one of us to make our environment feel better. The simple way to make a smarter city is to first keep our own surroundings clean, and seek better ways to make surroundings look clean. There is a saying which goes "Today's youth are tomorrows leaders, So lets form a stronger youth that can make better leaders for tomorrow. we are going to make Hubballi-Dharwad as #smartcities.

Hubballi-Dharwad needs to make its water distribution smarter by – • Making an optimized water supply with energy costs reduced. • Reducing the water losses through leak detection and proper network management. • Provide affordable water for domestic consumption, industries and irrigation.
