The Vibrant Gandhinagar city, the capital of Gujarat, has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one among the potential 100 smart cities under the Smart City Mission. At present, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) is in the process of revising the Smart city proposal for second round participation. In this regard, Citizens of Gandhinagar are requested to participate actively in all Citizen Engagement process and enable our city to successfully accomplish the vision of the Smart City Mission through a meaningful envisioning exercise and enable us to identify the priority areas of physical, social, economic and institutional infrastructure.

The previous proposal saw a tremendous response of 9200+ suggestions through various online (MyGov website, online feedback form, etc.) and offline (drop box, kiosks, etc.) modes. The first proposal indicated the following -

1. Area Based Proposal - Retrofitting and redevelopment of Sectors 7 and 21
2. Pan City Proposal – City Wide Wi-Fi Services in all 30 sectors of Gandhinagar.

Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation requests all its citizens to participate proactively in the Review process; wherein they can share their valuable suggestions and feedback to help GMC to reformulate and strengthen the Smart City Proposal for the Round-2 Challenge. The participation of citizens is absolutely crucial in ensuring the success of our city.

4. Traffic police would not stop the polluting vehicles in most cases, like the loading vehicles and auto rickshaws. Some sand truckers drive carelessly during the traffic, but they go unpunished. While the only people being punished are ones without helmets, who are hurting themselves only in most cases. 3/4

2. Experiment Circle-to-Circle entry on CH road. Most accidents happen on the connections to nearby sectors. Some idiots would enter on the main road and then would drive across to the last Lane at a slow speed to join the traffic, causing accidents in most cases. 3. Provide adequate parking facility in commercial districts. Some buildings have underground parking but are not opening for some weird reasons. 2/4

Good to see the improvements like installation of CCTV cams for traffic. Few suggestions on transportation. 1. Ask VTCos to purchase new buses and train drivers. Their vehicles are the most polluting and the drivers do rash driving. They are dumping old buses from other cities in here to add to pollution. Even then not serving the purpose to be a city bus service, rather they serve in the nearby villages. 1/4

The connectivity is where govt. needs to advance. 1) Gandhinagar-SG highway buses should be increased. 2) Try to make them air conditioned and good sitting arrangement. Buses should be now air conditioned due to this, the mobilization of private vehicles will decrease. people can take advantage of govt. facilities. thats my suggestion Thank You

Govt. should Punish people/Organisation who Spread Rubbish and make our city dirty. For ex. At Vegetable market, Hospitals, Fast food stoles and Restaurants, At Bus stands and railway, etc... It is a very good beginning of Govt. to place CCTV Camera surrounding of whole Gandhinagar City to give safety to people and monitoring the traffic.
