Amravati is situated in the central region of India. Amravati connected through Airways, Railway & the National Highway (NH)-6 with Aurangabad, Nagpur and other parts of the country.

Under the ‘Smart Cities’ mission, various smart and innovative works would be under-taken in various sectors such as Solid Waste Management, Drinking Water System, Sewerage, Sanitation, Public Transport, Storm water drains, Parking, Traffic Management, Flyover and others.

Amravati Municipal Corporation has started doing innovation for improving the quality of life of citizens; like LED lighting, Disaster management, Solid waste management etc.

Under this Mission preparation of SMART City Plan and formulate its own unique vision and strategies through citizen‘s& stakeholder’s views and suggestion on Smart City.

Amravati Municipal Corporation requests all to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions and grab this opportunity to be a part of this challenge to transform Amravati into SMART CITY.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions for the Area Based Strategies:

• Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area);
• Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure);
• Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable
• PAN City Initiative.

Amravati Municipal Corporation is looking forward for valuable suggestions from all the citizens of Amravati.

Last date to submit your valuable ideas and suggestions is 5th November, 2015.

1) City bus service from Badnera Station to every corner of amravati city should be available on 24x7 baiss specially in night hour 2) Construction of railway overbridge at badnera Juni Basti Railway Crosing to solve traffic congetion 3) construction of 4/6 lane road from dastur nagar square to badnera via old mini bye pass road 4) prepaid taxi/auto service at badnera railway station 5) Establishment of science museum at Amravati 6) upgradation of fire fighting system Amar Gehi

More cycling should be promoted. Some incentives should be given to govt officials who comes by cycle. Various campaign should be arranged for cycling. Like in my college @ CEPT University ahmedabad we arrange cycling every saturday mornig where faculties also. And its real fun. U wont even realize u did 10km cycling. Such things should be implimented in schools, colleges, offices. In cities like Mumbai many corporates are starting going offices by cycling then why cant we??

Cities should be pedestrian friendly. Present condition of Ravi nagar, gandhi chowk, Rajkamal, are pathetic. These squares are very dangerous not only for walking but for driving too. hey i have a brilliant idea of making out electricity from railway stations which can full fill the needs of the energy in railway stations. i wanted to do a startup on it but the idea came in upa govt which was not startup friendly . but i am expecting moddi to recognize potential of Piezoelectric energy as it can solve nations energy problem . it works oon the wieght of thing passing above it and railway stations where millions of people pass is tehe best plac to garner this energy

Contd.. We should encourage people to give more priority to spacious residence than to distance from main town. Also we should include nearby villages into city limits so that they don't get developed haphazardly and this should also bring down land prices and people can afford larger plots. While working out future plan for city the rapid industrialisation at Nangaon MIDC should also be taken into consideration. Plan should be such that city makes best use of Midc & Midc makes best use of city.

We have seen corporators and MLAs fighting for funds. Lets have a system where whoever achieves better participation of people in doing right thing with their garbage, illegal constructions, taxes collection etc(with appropriate points to each parameter) gets better share of development fund. This will make citizens smart. Also lets have spacious city. Let there be wider roads, larger open spaces in new development plan, tax relief for layouts of big plots and for constructions with lesser FSI.

Hello Sir, I have a small suggestion to make city traffic effective for pedestals. I have seen most of our indian vehicles doesn't stop behind the Stop lines and encroach the zebra crossings which forces the pedestals to walk in between the vehicles that causes accidents as well. Please check the attachment which defines the positions of signals that can resolve this issue. This idea will cost zero rupees but can effectively resolve this issue. European country uses this.
