Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities in India. The City covers an area of 14.01 sq.km and divided into 48 wards with the population of 2,07,225. Dindigul Municipal Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal that will provide smart solutions to the urban infrastructure issues. In order to prepare the Smart City Proposal, the citizens of Dindigul City and other citizens are requested to post their views & opinion, how the services being provided by Dindigul Corporation pertaining to city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, sanitation, Solid Waste Management, Storm Water Drainage, Housing, amenities related to recreational activities and Non-Motorized Transport, Security etc. It is essential to frame the Vision of Dindigul City and to get shortlisted in the Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

Let’s Join together in making Dindigul as a Smart City.

#Dindigul Rainwater harvesting must be provided for all the areas. Steps must be taken to improve the ground water level. Solar energy must be implemented in all the major government offices and the saved power can be used for large spinning mills in Dindigul which consumes a lot of power. Steps must be taken to promote organic farming in and around the city.

In respect to smart city, people safety and security specially to woman should be given high priority.CCTV camara should be fixed at all the points from entrance of city to exit of city, which should be constantly monitored. smart city should be trade,sercives and business oriented, NO industries which make pollution, should be sanctioned within the limit of 25 kms of the city. The city should be completely with trees and plants,it should be pollution free, The people should feel like heaven

All facilities like water,electricity,road,drainage,health,education,business facilities,shopping mall,tele-eloctronic facilities,internet-wifi,Garden, theator,temple for all religion,hotel,railway,metro,transportation,latest infrastructure,all types of plays-grounds,clubs,all types of entertainment faci., etc,are unlimited,clean,dust-free,advance with high technology with online digital facilities for all types of services,There should be no deficit of any goods,items or services to people

Maintenance!!! Maintenance!!! Maintenance!!! If Whatever will be developed or implemented from below discussed,that should be maintained in a time interval(based on the things) for lifelong(not only in election times). Then only we can achieve in these things forever. By this,some employment will be created permanently for monitoring & maintenance. For example, the corresponding supervisor/in-charge of a particular sector of that area should be visit even to a corner of that area regulr.

The city need a clean and hygienic bus stand. Current location is very distrubing and poor in construction . District have many tourist destinations which should be maintained well . All the roads must be connected well along traffic signals. Lot of problems with street dogs. Law and order should be maintained well.

Public awrness about latest events should be done by city corporation through radios.Every radio frequencies available in other cities like chennai and Coimbatore should be available in dindigul also by fixing attenuators in hilly areas around the city😃☺.DINDIGUL IS SURROUNDED BY hills ,which will be very eSy for fixing towers
