Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

Basic infra needed in Trichy: 1.Proper sewage treatment and sanitation for villages. 2.BRTS for City and Suburban. 3.Intergrated Bus terminal (requesting govt for the past 20years , not yet taken shape) 4.Monorail transport system in city limits. 5. A well designed and developed master plan for storm water drainage should be developed focusing on areas such as projected growth of population and incidental development of road network, updated rainfall details, low-lying areas, rainwater harvesting requirements and other relevant parameters

Tiruchirapalli or most part of Tamil Nadu is known for heat waves during summers and rain water saving is not so active other than the recently developed roads. Why do we not use "Pervious or Permeable Concrete" for road laying works. The advantage of this concrete is it absorbs water due to its porosity and this water can be collected effectively and used for irrigation purposes or with better management for drinking purposes. A video of what how this works is as attached.

To lessen the waiting time of the passengers at BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) bus-stand, every bus should be fitted with an RFID tag, which, with the passage of bus from every bus stand, will broadcast the status of bus which shall be captured by an antenna fitted at every BRTS bus stand. The citizens will be able to view through a mobile app (or a website) as to how far away a particular BRTS bus is from a specific station at a specific time. Facilitates same as Trains Enqry Mgmt System does.
