Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

rawford edamalai patti pudur areas to be connected to sundar nagar as well as to the trichy madurai bye bass bridge this will help thoushands of people living on both side of the highway please consider this proposal which will benefit public in big way in this area it will also help people to reach airport faster.please visit this area and discuss with people to understand this requirement and the huge benefit it will reflect that is the best smart move

"e-Governance": Though some procedures are covered under e-governance I believe there is huge left behind. Complete change over to e-Governance will really make Trichy Corporation smarter as it would improve the efficiency and transparency of the governance also it would bring down the corruption and ensure paper-free offices. All dealings will be impartial and unnecessary time delays too will be avoided.

Inner ring road, semi outer ring road and outer ring road will ease the traffic jam and make our rock city rocking city. On the e-governance, payment of property tax be made online. Renewal of Ration card based on aadhar proof may also be made online. E-seva for government related services , EB be launched. Renewal of driving licence be made online so as to avoid intermediaries. City related information be given in mobile app.

Try to make it simple by which we can keep city clean, children play ground, good environment, free and open places for vegetable sellers, Sunday market where we can get goods in affordable price, demolish illegal construction, expand road, proper public transport and proper city planning, small city clinic at least 4 places where we can get first aid, most important corruption free. Best of luck

The followings may be few suggestive measures for a smart and clean city: 1. Street washing before sweeping; 2. Use Bio-disposers to dispose kitchen / bio-degradable waste directly to sewer network. 3. Areas without sewer network may be provided with Bio-digesters for tackling bio-degradable waste. 4. Manage all type of Solid Waste separately without co-mingling for efficient reuse / recycling. & 5. Prefer to provide decentralised sanitation facilities, community managed & self sustainable.

a) Create wide,leveled and even footpaths for people to walk easily without any obstructions (e.g. Hawkers, exposed pipes and tubes, Transformers, Phone DP, Shop encroachments etc). b)Make the city cycle friendly, by clearly demarcating separate lane for it c)Create a free cycle/bike sharing program to encourage cycling Properly designed bike path & footpaths augmented with bus stops and metro stations help greatly in reducing congestion.

Trichy has municipal waste , aggregate quarry, cement plants, rag pickers and cultivation land. City may employ rag pickers to segregate organic waste resulting into the gas can be used as energy and top class manure. Inorganic waste like plastic can be used for making eco friendly road. The municipal waste, sewage sludge and rice can be used in Cement plants to save fossil fuel. Hence Trichy can turn the waste into cash by proper planning and implementation and save environment Raj,Lebanon
