Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

Apps that let users "adopt" city property — trash cans, call boxes, trees, fire hydrants, etc. — so the city doesn't have to spend money sending personnel to tend to them. Boston and Honolulu already have something similar in place, through Code for America, and these projects make citizens feel more invested in their neighborhood.

Widespread use of traffic rerouting apps, The average person spends 60 hours in traffic and theses apps should be able to calculate the best route for each driver to speed up traffic flow and reduce CO2 emissions. it should also ensure that a traffic jam on one road doesn't just get displaced to another area.

provide drainage system to all the areas / Nagars/ newly emerging suburbs in such a way the used water flow without any hindrance. We have to arrange for collecting the wastes from the households and the same has to be segregated into plastics and non polythene materials and the same has to be destroyed without causing pollution problems
