The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

In this direction, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has decided to engage the citizens of the city for their invaluable suggestions/ideas/opinions/practical solutions to put a check on increasing levels of all types of pollution in Chandigarh.

The CPCC hereby appeals to the city residents to participate in huge number in order to equip the CPCC with more and more innovative and practical solutions/ideas (which are implementable) to curb the problems arising out of different kind of pollution.

प्रदूषण नियंत्रण के लिए सरकार के साथ जनता की भी जिम्मेदारी होती है। जनता को सप्ताह में एक दिन कम से कम अपने वाहनो का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए।

SIR I Am Dhruv H Dave from mumbai .Sir i wanted to say that in india the major problem is pollution and this problem can be solved by 1]the factories which are polluting air must pay and take measures for controlling air pollution . 2]the cigarette factories must be totally closed isn"t if they pay more money for licences because people in india just smoke and pollute air and hukkahs also should be banned sirinindia gutkha and tobbacco wasbanned in mumbai then toopeople areeating it

Please encourage the public to use weekly once Bicycle for the whole day to perform all the activities. It creates pollution free environment, saves the fuel money, Increases our Indian rupee price against foreign currency, burns the unwanted calories and fat(Increases human life span, reduces heart attack rates), gives a life to cycle manufacturers, repairing people(Lights the lamp in low level people(poor income group) life) too.

All autos and motorcycles should be banned in cities.There should be only 4 wheeler taxis.This will help in reducing the traffic and pollution and improve driving habits(lane discipline).Many international cities follow this by banning motorcycles and autos in cities to avoid traffic chaos.Also,the taxation on automobile sector should be increased with more investment in public transport system.If the public transport is good, people will not rely on private cars.

I just read in newspapers that onion is being sold in Nasik market for Rs 7000/-a quintal.If so we should not get for more than 15/- with all overhead cost & tpn whereas we are still getting it for 20/25 rupees a kg.indicating that govt do not have any control on market regulators...Secondly, when last year onion was being sold for 80/- a kg, evryone media were shouting on top of their voice on Modi govt's failure to control prices. Now when it has gone so cheap your media mgrs are sleeping.
