Can we have garbage being controlled by our policemen? Like liter fines? The fines are subject and taken according to the area. Like near schools where hygiene is most important, the fine is highest, fines for not dumping waste properly on highways, near playgrounds or tourist places. At least begin with policemen taking tough stance near those important places. Give importance to separating recycle waste like paper plastic cardboard and other regular waste.2 things:green india clean india achvd

In Germany, everywhere you could see four colour bins-green, blue, yellow and brown meant to segregate glass, paper, packaging and bio-waste (organic substances) respectively. We can see these cans in every German household as well. This is a national color coding scheme for the bins in Germany. There is one more red or black colour called Restmüll (everything not covered by above but not including dangerous trash like batteries) The third picture is a typical sorting trashcan in public places

When we have decided to clean our nation, we should follow the rules that western countries have implemented. Everyone is responsible for the surrounding areas of their dwellings. And tickets should be issued for not cleaning and maintaining the surroundings.More emphasis should be given on recycling the waste and water management. Public places to be taken care by govt employees. Fines should be imposed for spitting etc on public places. Strict fines and execution will help.

Cleaning is one option but the problem needs to be fixed at the root. The root will comprise of a number of factors: 1. Education - How it impacts them and their families? How will they benefit from it? 2. Champions - Champions at the lowest levels to implement this? 3. Everyone should be a policeman for stopping litter. Someone spreading litter should be looked at with pity at his immediate surrounding?
