I think that our 'India' is very large country and 'optical fibre' should be used with wireless technology. It is very difficult to deploy 'optical fibre' to all over country and important to note that technology changes occurred very swiftly. We can use optimum solution to connect India:1.Use optical fibre to connect major cities.2.Adopt high speed satellite internet tech. (Single Dish for TV Channels and Internet) to connect every Indian.3.Make Internet affordable.

The fiber optic network should be strengthen by alternate method like wireless technology. The equipment used for this should be made duty free and govt can allocate spectrum for certain broadband frequencies for B class and C class ISPs the fee can be collected at the time of allocations of license.

In fiber optic the main hurdle is laying and its initial cost, where as maintenance is another major issue. I suggest that while making roads a separate duct should be provided along side the road by the developer where anybody can lay down his own fiber. It should adhere to safe laying rules and can be used by ISPs on nominal rental bases. It would make fiber laying more safe and cost effective.

1) The End points of OFC has to reach to a locality level in a ring so that the seamless connectivity is made available to most potential users till the remote END 2) While making roads the side ways should be used to make trenches so that new OFC can be laid easily 3) OFC network monitoring for performance, aging and replacement of old cables needs to be planned as a maintenance planner. 4) The Active network needs to be evaluated and scale up it to a capacity handling for coming 5 years...

1- Creating Hubs at the district level and taluka levels. which will cater to the remote location falling under the respective zones. 2- Increasing the use of wireless networks to reach the zones having geographical constrains. 3- Using Underwater cabling technology to utilize the available river basins and canals to lay the optical fiber cables for ease of laying out as the layouts are already available with the authorities.

To optimize the digitization we need "Address Master" database. Currently we are unable to locate our households. After creating Address Master Database we will get exact picture about demand and supply of network across India. We will able to locate the network feasibility easily.

Successful implementation of Fiber Optics depends on the following things: 1. Instead of re inventing the wheel, it would be better if we look at a country which has the great success rate in implementing it and which company implemented it. Implement the same here. 2. Cut the costs by locally producing the cables. 3. Make sure the technology is upgradeable in the future for atleast 30 yrs, before going for a revamp. 4. Make sure a faulty cable line can be replaced within hours of identifying
