Best practices and common healthcare rules for every hospital. Here it doesnt matter which hospital or clinic i go, i do not find any difference in common practice. They follow same process. Another point is government provided health insurance which enables every individual to same health care system. Here doctor can not go for wrong practice or charge you heavily unneccessary, prescribe you tests or medicine not require or can damage your body as every thing is checked by insurance company.

An entrance exam similar to civil services should be introduced on a national scale for nursing after they graduate. It will help frame a common standard of skills. That list will help recruitment into govt sector, armed forces, state govt and other institutions. Later the pvt sector should also be brought into its ambit. It will ensure uniformity of grades, easier assesment, future upgradation of skills. It will also help bridge the demand supply gap to a large extant. Will bring transparency

A chain of well equipped blood banks all over the country under one Central system should be able to provide the need for supply , storage of adequate units of blood and components. It should be manned by medical officers, responsible for donations, apheresis, storage.A minimal charge has to be taken from patients. Only voluntary donation to be allowed. This will ensure safe, prompt, adequate blood supplies to all people. Blood components have to be made from every unit to optimize use of blood.

Its essential in our health system in India to respect nurses and paramedical staff. We should not beliitle their services. They are the backbone of any hospital. They should be treated with dignity.Adequate staffing is essential. Also good salaries will make trained nurses to stay back rather than migrate.Optimal health care can only be delivered in any setting by team work alone. This mindset has to be developed. No person should be treated as an adversary. Ultimately only patient care matters

All healthcare institutions in pvt and govt sector should be encouraged to produce local guidelines for treatment of diseases. The best course would be that our Union Ministry of health in collaberation with eminent Indian health institutions produce treatment guidelines based on our resources for all illnesses prevalent in India. It should be easily accesible on the ministry website. This will bring uniformity in treatment all over the country and reduce the chance of error and negligence.

Drug procurement, quality enforcement and availability is an important area of corruption. It can be prevented by online procurement, connect all pharmacies online, allowing only online generic precription by doctors, preventing monopoly of drug companies, enforcing strict drug quality criteria, accountability for drug shortages and poor quality, The Indian FDA should be made equivalent to the US FDA. We all should aim to work for our Govt health sector to be on par with international standards.

One good thing that need to be implemented in India is the strong patient referral services in government health care services. Hospitals should be graded as Primary heath center, 1st referral unit, 2nd referral unit etc based on the level of specialty care that is available in those hospitals. referral units should not entertain any patient without a referral from lower units except in emergency. This will make available the special skills in these higher centers to the really needy patients.
