MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

Honourable sir I have two questions. Government fulfil demand of water for metropolitan city from other places. So my question is what priority of government for those places which fulfil the water demand of metropolitan city . Tell me how will you develop those places which are sensitive for water conservation and forests. How long time government would required for metropolitan citizens to again drink ground water.

1) Unlike other natural resources like water, fire, wind etc., Sun is an eternal natural sources of energy to our planet earth with out polluting the earth atmosphere. If we start using Solar energy as a primary source of power generator instead of traditional power generator in India which gets sunlight on most of the days in a year, we can transform India from the current level to a global leader in the world. 2)Improve the condition of public transport to safe&secured,accessible&economical

Suggestions: 1. Social awareness and promotion schemes to stop pollution: stop unnecessary / loud use of loudspeakers and horns; stop polluting rivers by statue growing; By developing promotion schemes of plantation. 2. Use of trains, buses, metros on green technology like Sweden 3. Reduce carbon emission; Boost economy by buying carbon credits from developed countries and others. 4. Boost manufacturing by green technologies and Industrial and municipal waste and wastewater treatment.

Honourable sir Lots of polythene wastage is produced in purchasing of vegetables. So government should campaign for avoiding polythene at least in case of purchasing vegetables from the market. We all talking about unity but it breaks whenever people use their own car for travelling from one place to other place. Talking on unity is not unity. Should campaign for real unity. Government should be implement digital india as early as possible. It will help for ecofriendly environment.

Dear Sir, Thank you for the opportunity to Suggest the Government Agenda for COP-21. I wish to extend my opinion based on my Green School initiative in Gujarat on the sustainable Lifestyle. Every country has to transform their 30% conventional Schools into the Green Schools by 2020. This will change the consumption based lifestyle to sustainable lifestyle which will reduce approx 10% Carbon emission in the World by 2020. I can share my study report on Green Schools in Guj. with Govt.

sir , why cant we connect all the rivers from Assam Brahmaputra to Narmada Gujarat , we can solve all the water issues no floods no drought , entire India rivers can be connected, along the canal plants can be planted all over India

Sir, These are really wonderful initiatives; no doubt we can together achieve them with full participation from every citizen. Need of the hour is to sow it at the grass root level. Hence we also need to extensively percolate them down to our education system so that our future society will be fully aware of it. Let us introduce various environment related studies in our syllabus from primary till graduate or even beyond that level. Thanks. Girish

sir you can increase the use of solar energies in almost every house because as such hot temperature is there always secondly you can also educate or start a programme so that the problem may be solved there should be some camps or such facilities so that solar pannels can be purchased in the minimum possible rate and be installed in home

Mr. Hon. Minister, Global climate change is in alarming situation. Some indicators I want to discuss with respect to humans: 1. Unpredicative mansoon i.e.rainfall, draught etc. 2. Rapid spreading/outbrust of Infectious diseases/ Pathogen-driven diseases. 3. Due to air-pollution, rapid increase in cases of Respiratory associated diseases. 4. According to report of CHERG, An estimated 580 people in India die of water pollution related illness every day. 5. Food security concern,so inflation
